In collaboration with Medieval Week, we’ve taken two exciting journeys through time. One was all about taste and scent, and the other explored medieval art together with Gotland-based designer Knut Stahle. 

The result is a lip balm containing the second most expensive raw material of the time—at one point even more expensive than gold—namely myrrh. Myrrh was used for wound healing, in beeswax ointments, and as incense. The scent of myrrh is soothing to the mind and has a musky quality. 

Stahle has painted a simple beehive on the packaging, with bees depicted as birds; a beautiful poppy also adorns the front. This was a common sight on Gotland during the Middle Ages.

When you take out your lip balm and glide the silky-smooth stick across your lips, take a deep breath and let your mind wander back to Visby and Medieval Week.
